Jaakko: I got a school place from Hayesbrook Secondary School, with maths and sports specialism. The school is pretty big and there is about 750 pupils. It’s also a boy school. There are 5 school buildings and a football field with fake grass and tennis field.  My new school has a canteen and there is a restaurant that’s called Whites Restaurant.

At the first day I skipped two lessons because I was waiting for my timetable but I didn’t even get it. But I think I just didn’t understand everything. I also got a “school Buddy” that showed me the school and told me what and where to go. There are three things I need still. They are School “team” tie, Smart card that I can buy food with and I need timetable. The school buddy’s name is David and his very nice. Today we had geographic, English, wood tech and art. And a got my first homework in England and it was geographic.

Eino: Minä sain koulupaikan Weald Community Primary koulusta. Se on ala-aste. Koulu on aika pieni, siellä on 160 oppilasta. Siellä on 3 koulu rakennusta. Siellä on jalkapallokenttä ja yksi tai kaksi koripallokoria.

Ensimmäiseksi koulupäiväksi minulle annettiin koulukaveri. Hänen nimensä on Ewan. Hän on hauska ja hän muistutti erästä kaveriani suomesta. Meillä oli ensimmäisellä tunnilla matikkaa. Seuraavaksi oli äidinkieltä kaksi tuntia ja sitten oli musiikkia. Musiikintunnilla me soitimme huilua. Se oli aika vaikeaa. Olimme välitunnilla zombi-hippaa ja lipunryöstöä.

Ruokatunnilla söin omia eväitä. Moni muukin söi omia eväitään. Minulla oli leipää, porkkanaa ja viinirypäleitä. Jaakko kertoi että, yhdellä heidän koululaisella oli lounaaksi kakkua ja perunalastuja.
