Afternoon tea is an English tradition. It was introduced in year 1840 by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford. Duchess would become hungry around four o`clock in the afternoon. Dinner was served in late evening. So they started serving tea in afternoon. Afternoon tea was served with selection of sandwiches and scones with strawberry jam.

Last Saturday we went to London by train. There we walked and bought some clothes. After we ate our lunch we, went to Tea Terrace. Tea Terrace is small restaurant, that serves afternoon food and afternoon tea. And the tea was the reason why we went there!

The Tea Terrace was quite pretty, but it was very PINK! The tea and selection of “sweets” were huge. We ordered three pans of tea: Green tea and English breakfast tea. We also ordered lemon cake and chocolate cake and of course scones. Scones were served with strawberry jam and whipped cream.

I put in my tea sugar and milk and it was quite good. I tasted almost everything on the table. I liked the scones without raisins. My brother didn`t like the tea at all.
